Evaluation of Mulching Effects on Weed Control in Blackgram Production under Irrigated Condition

A field experiment with the objectives to understand evaluation of mulching effects on weed control in blackgram production under irrigated condition involving two factors viz., (paddy straw mulching, sugarcane trash no mulching) and herbicidal treatments (pendimethalin pre-emergence (PE) @ 1.0 Kg/ha, pendimathalin + Imazethapyr (pre-mix) Valor 32% EC Hand weeding 15 30 days after sowing, weedy check) was undertaken Factorial Randomized Block Design (FRBD) design three replications at instructional farm Karunya Institute Technology Sciences, Coimbatore region western Tamil Nadu during cropping seasons Rabi 2022-23. Results revealed that paddy sequential application Pendimathalin imazethapyr recorded lower density, dry weight maximum crop yield as well net returns over rest treatments.
